APIP has promoted a Public Session of the Sustainable Plastics Mobilising Agenda in Oliveira de Azeméis

On 26 January, APIP held a public session in Oliveira de Azeméis, which was attended by the Mayor of Oliveira de Azeméis, Joaquim Jorge Ferreira

The auditorium of the Ul/Loureiro Host Area Business Centre in Oliveira de Azeméis was overbooked on 26 January for the presentation of the structuring project to leverage the transition of the plastics value chain to a circular economy, a project promoted by APIP, led by Logoplaste Innovation Lab and co-financed by the PRR. This initiative seeks to cement the plastics sector’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and, progressively, to the concept of regeneration, as an approach that aims to actively restore the global environment and without which the efficiency of existing or potentially existing resources will not be achieved.

The opening session was attended by Amaro Reis, President of APIP, Filipe de Botton, Chairman of Logoplaste, Martinho de Oliveira from ESAN – University of Aveiro, António da Silva Rodrigues, President of AECOA and the closing session was attended by Rui Paulo Rodrigues, Vice-President of the Simoldes Group, Bernard Merkx, Managing Director of European Plastics Converters | EuPC and the Mayor of Oliveira de Azeméis, Joaquim Jorge Ferreira.

The Agenda was presented by Jorge Coelho from the University of Coimbra, the project’s scientific leader.

The Sustainable Plastics Mobilising Agenda, backed by an investment of around 39 million euros, is an initiative of APIP, spearheaded by the Logoplaste Innovation Lab. The initiative has garnered the collaboration of a consortium of 49 entities, all driven by a shared objective: to bolster the sector’s transition towards a Circular Economy, emphasizing sustainability.
