APIP attended Plastics & Rubber 2026, held in Barcelona on March 11 and 12, with a booth dedicated to promoting the Sustainable Plastics Agenda and sharing its preliminary results.
This event, which has established itself as one of the main gathering points for the plastics and rubber industries in the Iberian Peninsula, saw significant growth in its third edition, with a 40% increase in exhibition space and the participation of over 130 exhibitors. As in the previous edition, the fair included an area dedicated to recycling, reinforcing the central role of the circular economy in the sector’s future.
Alongside the exhibition, several scientific, technological, and industry-specific conferences took place, including the Rubber Technical Conference, where topics such as sustainability, technological innovation, and the regulatory framework were discussed, with the participation of experts, companies, and associations.
APIP was represented by Nuno Aguiar, Technical Director, and Nuno Lopes, Association Technician, with the primary objective of presenting the Sustainable Plastics Agenda to the sector’s key stakeholders.
During the event, APIP’s activities focused on:
- Present the Sustainable Plastics project, highlighting its work packages, processes, products, services, and consortium;
- Highlight the project’s benefits in terms of the circular economy and sustainability for the sector;
- Share the preliminary results already presented at the Plastics Summit – Global Event 2025.
Throughout the fair, 53 contacts were established with companies, exhibitors, and associations. These interactions not only raised the project’s profile but also gauged market interest in the solutions to be developed, opening up prospects for their future dissemination and commercialization.
Participation in Plastics & Rubber 2026 reinforces APIP’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the transformation of the plastics sector, consolidating the Sustainable Plastics project’s position as a benchmark in the transition to a more circular economy.
